Since 1989, Tricia A. Shindledecker has served the legal needs of Sonoma County residents in the areas of Elder Law, Trust Administration and Estate Planning, Real Estate, Copyright and Trademarks. She was formerly a director of the law firm of Anderson, Zeigler, Disharoon, Gallagher & Gray until she started her own firm in July 2011.
Tricia is a certified Elder Law Attorney, a certified specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law, and is accredited to present and prosecute applications for Veterans Benefits.
Tricia currently serves as Past-President of the Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA), and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Sonoma County Bar Association from 2007-2011. She also chaired the Probate Local Rules Committee of the Sonoma County Bar from approximately 2007-2008.
Tricia is a member of numerous professional and volunteer organizations, including the Sonoma County Bar Association, Sonoma County Women in Law, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and Kiwanis. She previously volunteered with her service dog, Millie, at Burbank Elementary School and the Alzheimer’s Day Care Program at Catholic Charities. She is the Kiwanis Advisor to the Montgomery High School Key Club (a student service club).
Tricia is admitted to practice law before all courts in the State of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals, 9th Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of California, and the U.S. Tax Court. She is also a Notary Public.
She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of California at San Diego, earning a BA in Political Science in 1985. She earned her J.D. magna cum laude in 1989 from St. Louis University. There she served as Editor-in-Chief of the St. Louis University Bar Journal (1988-1989) and received the prestigious American Jurisprudence Awards in Criminal Procedure, Criminal Law, Remedies, Legal Profession and Constitutional Law.
Tricia was born in Chateauroux, France, and is the mother of three adult children. Tricia had the privilege of sharing her life with an adorable 3lb service dog, Millie, for 13 years until Millie passed away on December 12, 2021.
